Eual Richard "Red" Neal, 97, of Venedocia, Ohio, died at 5:20 a.m. Friday May 14, 2010 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert, Ohio. He was born on December 31, 1912 in Thompsonville, Illinois, to Aaron and Nobia (Otterson) Neal. On June 29, 1958 he married Rosy E. Bowman who survives.

Survivng along with his wife are two sons from a previous marriage: Howard Neal, Michigan, Curtis Neal, Washington. Together Eual and Rosey had three daughters: Nila (Eric) Dull, Venedocia, Ohio, Tina Neal, North Lewisberg, Ohio, and Sandra Gurtner, Botkins, Ohio; also surviving are one brother: Rosco Neal, Benton, Illinois; one sister: Dorothy Biegler, Evansville, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Stephen, Vashti and Elijah Shramo, Amanda Van Brimmer, Talitha Gurtner, Sarah Harter and Emily Dull; and two great-grandchildren: Domonic Van Brimmer and Kaily Rose Harter.

Deceased are three brothers: Jim, Harvey, and Oakly Neal, and one sister, Goldie Braden.

Eual worked for Babcock and Wilcox, where he was a pipe fitter for over 40 years and was a boiler maker for over 15 years. He welded for New York Central Rail Road. He was also a farmer and a member of Van Wert Apostolic Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday May 18, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, Ohio, with Rev. Robert Frake and Rev. Eric Dull officiating. Burial will be held in Neal Cemetery, Logan, Illinois on Wednesday, May 18, at 11:00 a.m. Calling is Monday May 17 from 2-8 p.m. at Ketcham-Ripley and on Tuesday, one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to donors choice.
